“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” - Benjamin Franklin
This year, we celebrate the 8th Annual Tour de Fort Lee—a fundraising event for the Fort Lee Education Foundation, held by members of the Fort Lee community. The event will take place on Sunday, September 8th.
Benzel-Busch is proud to, once again, be a major supporter of the Tour, which last year pulled in more than $20,000.
The Fort Lee Education Foundation was established in 2005 to raise funds for innovative educational programs at Fort Lee public schools. In addition to supporting student projects in the Fort Lee community (as well as the purchase of in-class equipment), both high school teachers and students can apply for creative-learning grants.
Like last year, the Tour will include a five-mile bicycle race, a two-mile walk and a four-corner criterium-style bike race. All three events will be held on closed courses. The starting point for the 8th annual Tour de Fort Lee is the corner of Tremont and Abbott Boulevards. Registration begins at 7:30am and races begin at 9:00am—rain or shine.
Every person who registers will receive a free raffle ticket for the 50/50 raffle and will enjoy beverages and entertainment after the Tour. Benzel-Busch will also be on hand with the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class and M-Class vehicles.
