The recipient of the prestigious 2015 World Car of the Year award, the C-Class is a perfect embodiment of Mercedes-Benz’s most important ideals. Rooted in a design philosophy that emphasizes luxury and sensual purity plus intense racing heritage, Mercedes-Benz now adds the all-new 2017 C-Class Cabriolet, the latest addition to its C-Class line of vehicles, to its roster. Boasting sporty, stylish features, an elegant soft top, powerful engine variants, and cutting-edge technologies, the C-Class Cabriolet is the perfect car for the summer months—and beyond and is the first cabriolet based on the C-Class.
Independent, sporty, modern, and youthful, the all-new 2017 C-Class Cabriolet was built from the foundation of the award-winning Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The fresh-faced Cabriolet is available with several powerful, zippy engine options from the 241 horsepower 2.0 liter inline-4 turbo engine, included in the C300, to the AMG variants. The Mercedes-AMG C43 offers an AMG-enhanced 362 hp V6 biturbo engine, and the AMG C63 is a handcrafted AMG V8 biturbo engine which is the only 8-cylinder engine offered in this segment delivering 469 horsepower for the C63 and 503 horsepower for the C63S.
Each has been bred with racing in its blood, coupling pure power with sporty, agile handling. The Mercedes-Benz 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission comes standard, and the electronically controlled AIRMATIC suspension, which ensures a smooth, adjustable ride, is also available as an option.
Sporting a fully automatic, multi-layer acoustic soft top—currently available in black, dark brown, dark blue, or dark red—the 2017 C-Class Cabriolet is the ideal vehicle for summer. Its top easily slides down within 20 seconds, even at higher speeds, and with the top up, its acoustics shut out ambient noise, making conversation and comfort that much easier.
But this convertible isn’t just for the hottest months of the year, either. Combining the Mercedes-Benz unique and standard AIRSCARF neck-level heating system with optional AIRCAP technology, which uses wind blockers to reduce turbulence inside the vehicle and ensure a smoother ride, the C-Class Cabriolet has a top you can keep down all year long.
It is also optionally available with the AIRMATIC suspension system, which is unique for the C-Class segment. DYNAMIC SELECT is standard on all C-Class Cabriolets where you can choose your desired drive style setting: sporty, comfortable, or fuel-efficient.
The Mercedes-Benz unique design philosophy guided the creation of the new C-Class Cabriolet, and its elegance and purity shine through in every detail. Its signature diamond radiator grille, front and rear LED lights, and long hood give it a distinctly Mercedes-Benz quality of refinement, while its low suspension and 18 inch tires lend it an unmistakable, exciting sense of sportiness.
That attention to detail extends to the interior of the all-new C-Class Cabriolet, too. A fresh take on C-Class style, the beautifully crafted cabin features high-grade materials, heat-reflecting leather, and individual, foldable rear seats. A rich, sensuous Front bass sound system fills the interior with your favorite music, while the optional COMAND system keeps you in complete control, including navigation, Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, LINGUATRONIC voice control, and an 8.4” high-resolution screen offering additional technology.
With the ease of Apple CarPlay™, the driver is also able to integrate with the car’s in-dash color screen, central controller and steering-wheel controls with the ease of use that mirrors your iPhone®’s home screen. That’s because it links your iPhone and Siri® to your car, so you can make calls, read or dictate text messages aloud, navigate to a destination, stream music, podcasts and audiobooks from a variety of sources, and more, giving you the ability to stay in touch while paying attention to what’s most important – safe driving.*
Of course, the C-Class Cabriolet also comes standard with Mercedes-Benz cutting-edge safety and driving assistance technologies, engineered to get you from A to B without incident, every time you drive. With the goal of providing a safe, semi-autonomous driving experience, the Cabriolet comes standard with ATTENTION ASSIST and COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS, with collision warning and Adaptive Braking, applied when necessary to prevent collisions in traffic.
Optimal protection is afforded by the high structural safety of the body as well as by the restraint systems and comprehensive complement of air bags including: adaptive front air bags for driver and front passenger, knee bags on both driver and passenger side, thorax/pelvis bags for driver and front passenger, and window bags integrated in the top edges of the front door panels.
The sporty C-Class Cabriolet stays low to the road, zipping around every corner and bend, even as its soft top opens to reveal the beauty of the world above.
