The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) has expanded their commitment to Drive Green by partnering with Plug In America, and NJ CAR, to organize a series of electric vehicle ride and drives throughout the state.
On July 31, 2022, The Borough of Edgewater hosted an Electric Vehicle Ride & Drive EV Showcase at Edgewater Commons. Participants had the opportunity to test drive a new Mercedes-Benz EQS provided by Benzel-Busch. These events allow participants to experience EV up close and, in a fun, informative, and engaging environment.
Attendees also had the opportunity to browse through EVs on display from local owners and discuss the real-life experience of owning and maintaining electric vehicles.
In addition to test drives, DEP teams were on hand to educate and expose the audience to electric vehicles and help show how easy it is to incorporate clean transportation into your life. And their anti-idling teams brought their expertise - to show people the benefits of driving electric, put idling misconceptions to rest (no, you don't need to "warm up" your car), and answer any clean transportation questions.
