Benzel-Busch Mercedes of New Jersey Donates $20,000 to Renowned Englewood Hospital and Medical Center Foundation

Englewood Hospital and Medical Center started as a twelve-bed community hospital in 1888. It’s come a long way from these modest beginnings. Although Englewood Hospital now provides state-of-the-art clinical programs and advanced treatment and diagnostic services to over one million people, it’s never strayed from its mission: to provide humanistic and compassionate patient-centered care.

Englewood Hospital and Medical Center is now renowned for its bloodless medicine and surgery, and cardiac and vascular programs; and it is recognized for its leadership in breast care, oncology and joint replacement. Independent healthcare experts have recognized the hospital as one of the best facilities in the region, as well as one of the best in patient safety (reported by The Leapfrog Group); maternity care (5-star rating from Healthgrades®); and cardiac bypass surgery (noted in the Cardiac Surgery in New Jersey report).

This year, Benzel-Busch proudly donated $20,000 to the Englewood Hospital and Medical Center Foundation’s annual Gala. The event took place on May 5th at the Rockleigh Country Club, and it was a black-tie affair that raised more than $1 million for the Hospital’s multidisciplinary medical programs and services.

Nearly 700 guests turned out for the Gala, hosted by TV news journalists Harry Martin and Sarah Wallace and including entertainment by actor Martin Short.

The gala is just one of many fundraiser events the Foundation will host this year. Check out what’s on the 2012 calendar at their special events page: http://www.englewoodhospitalfoundation.org/specialevents.asp.
