Benzel-Busch Sponsors The Center for Hearing and Communication at 14th Annual Golf Tournament, Raising $100,000

Did you know that 12% of the US population, and five of every 1,000 newborns, suffers significant hearing loss? Or that listening to your iPod at high volumes, or just standing in a noisy metro station day after day, can cause permanent hearing loss overtime?

People can be born with hearing loss or they can develop it. Either way, it affects every aspect of daily life. Luckily, we live in an age when experts are making incredible improvements to hearing health care.

There are few greater experts in this field than the Center for Hearing and Communication (CHC), a New York-based organization that Benzel-Busch Mercedes has supported for two years and counting.

CHC has been an international leader in hearing health care for more than 100 years. The organization does two crucial things: it advocates for patients’ needs within the local community and provides all necessary clinical and educational services (speech, hearing and mental health) under one roof.

Since 1910, CHC has met the needs of more than 1.5 million people and currently serves 20,000 people (including newborn babies) in the New York area on a yearly basis.

As a non-profit, CHC relies greatly on local support—and Benzel-Busch is proud to be there for them. Coming this fall is CHC’s 19th Annual Feast, its premier fundraising event. And earlier this summer, the organization’s 14th Annual Golf Tournament was held at Alpine Country Club. Benzel-Busch again donated a brand new Mercedes Benz C300 4MATIC to the event. The prize—going to anyone scoring a hole-in-one on the 16th hole—stoked excitement among the 100 golfers and helped raise more then $100,000 for programs and services.
