What To Do In Case Of An Accident
Call the Benzel-Busch Collision Center
It can be extremely stressful, but remember that accidents do happen. It is very important that you remain calm and, if possible, check to see if any other involved party is injured and in need of medical attention.
Call the police in order to file an accident report. This is especially important if the accident was not your fault. Filing a police report doesn’t require you to also file an insurance claim, but in the event that you need to do so, it can be very helpful.
We will guide you in making the proper decision — like whether to file a claim or not, if you should go through your insurance provider, or file with the other party’s insurance company. At Benzel-Busch, we work with all insurance providers, arrange for a rental vehicle for you, and guarantee all repairs we make.
If your car is not drivable and needs to be towed away
Write down where your vehicle is being towed to. We will make arrangements to have your vehicle brought to our collision center. We can then begin our assessment, where we find and pass along areas of damage to your insurance adjuster.
It is your legal right to choose where your vehicle will be repaired — not the insurance company’s
It is illegal for an insurance company to steer or attempt to dictate where your vehicle can or must be repaired. Your vehicle is not generic and is in fact one of a kind; this is where Benzel-Busch surpasses your average auto repair shop. Our collision center specializes in Mercedes-Benz vehicles, amongst others — equipped with the latest technologies, tools, and equipment, we will confidently restore your vehicle to factory specifications.
Not All Body Shops Are Created Equal
I would like to explain the benefits of having your vehicle repaired at our facility. My name is Robert Bruce and I am the Body Shop Manager at Benzel-Busch Motor Car Corp. Here at Benzel-Busch Mercedes-Benz we carry on the heritage and pride of the brands we represent into all of the work that we do. I can assure you that your vehicle will be repaired back to original factory specifications and will undergo a rigorous quality-control inspection to ensure the fit and finish is perfect. Once your vehicle is brought to our certified facility, we deal with your insurance company from beginning to end to make sure that your vehicle is fixed to its original condition. Some of the most frequently asked questions:
Is it more expensive to have my vehicle repaired at a dealership?
NO. This is the most popular misconception regarding repairs at the dealer; we negotiate with the insurance companies to ensure your vehicle is repaired properly and brought back to the original factory specifications.
Do you provide a warranty on the repairs performed?
YES, we do provide a limited warranty on all repairs completed at our facility.
Do I have the right to choose what facility will repair my car?
YES. It is your legal right to choose where your vehicle will be repaired — not the insurance company. It is an illegal act for an insurance company to “steer” or dictate where your vehicle can be repaired.
Why should I bring my vehicle to you and not to the insurance company’s Direct Repair Facility (D.R.P.)?
A D.R.P. shop works for the insurance company and DOES NOT have your best interest in mind. That is why most insurance companies try to steer you away from coming to a dealer facility. When you bring your vehicle to us we are an advocate for you. We make sure that your vehicle is repaired properly and we will only use O.E.M. replacement parts (Original Equipment from Manufacturer).
Will a D.R.P. facility use O.E.M. parts?
Depending on the insurance company, usually not. As a matter of fact, some insurance companies not only use aftermarket parts but will also use junkyard (used) parts.
Are all body shops Mercedes-Benz certified?
NO. This is one of the most important benefits that you will receive when you have your vehicle repaired with us — all of our structural repairs are completed at our certified facilities. Certified means that the technicians who work on your vehicle receive ongoing training from the factory.
Do you provide a rental vehicle?
Depending upon your insurance policy, most people have an allowance for a rental vehicle. Most insurance companies will even have a direct-bill policy with the rental company. We can even arrange for Enterprise to pick you up from our facility.
We have also introduced a cost-efficient way to repair small dings and dents in certain areas of the vehicle where the paint is not damaged. Paintless dent removal is considerably less labor-intensive than traditional body work and can often be done while you wait during normal business hours, or by appointment at your next service visit. We provide free body shop estimates by appointment. As always, we guarantee all of the work that is completed in our shop. Please call or email today for an estimate, a repair appointment, or if you have any questions.
Our collision center is located at 28 Grand Ave, Englewood, NJ 07631.
